Songs for Liberation

Who:
• Open minded people of any racial, gender, or religious identity, people of any age, sexual preference, or sense of musical fluency who enjoy connecting and metabolizing the complexities of life through making music in community
• facilitation by Tracy LJ Robertson and friends in the Ithaca/ Vocal Bloom community

What:
Join us in bringing to life a handful of songs picked from suggestions submitted here that speak to our intention and commitment to liberation - for and from within ourselves, our relationships, our local communities and beyond.

When:
Saturday, January 18th
Doors at 2:45pm for a 3pm start, finding a musical ending by 5pm

Where:
Ithaca, NY 14850
Address shared upon registration

Why:
• To allow movement of and connection through some of the joy, confusion, grief, hope, and so many other feelings we may feel living in this complex world
• To cultivate resilience in ourselves and our community
• For the pleasure of hearing and feeling the potentiality in our voices rising in harmony with one-another

How:
• An opening song and some grounding
• Container creation and invitations/games for playful connection
• Lifting our voices for Peace with around 6 songs suggested in participants' online registration


Some invitations:
• bring water ~ we're just complicated plants
• wear clothes that are easy to move in
• masks welcome, not required

11% of proceeds for this event will go to the Gayogohono Learning Project.
